I spent nearly two weeks in the beautiful area of Italy known as “Cinque Terre” (five lands, in Italian) and the quaint, colorful cities captured my heart. I opted not to edit a single photo in this post (except for the Pinterest pins!) to give you the real deal when it comes to Cinque Terre and not the over-saturated, super-sharp images you’ll find flooding Instagram feeds.
Riomaggiore Marina
Just your average apartment rental office, Riomaggiore
A glass of wine and a sunset, why not? A top the mountains behind Riomaggiore
Sunset over Cinque Terre with the small city of Codeglia in the distance.
Colorful facades in Riomaggiore
Old town alleyways in Vernazza.
#HomeGoals in Vernazza
Sweeping views of Vernazza
Where the sea meets the city, Vernazza
Peeking through at Vernazza.
Even on a cloudy day Vernazza is stunning.
Rough seas in the Riomaggiore marina.
A pretty #PinkHour at the Riomaggiore marina.
Those iron balconies though! Monterosso al Mare
Pretty alley-ways in Monterosso al Mare
Can I move in, please? Just the average home in Monterosso al Mare.
Can I move in here, too? The hues of pink in Vernazza stole my heart.
Just another perfect sunset from the Riomaggiore marina.
Those colors though! You can even see the blue hues of the sea down the main street in Manarola.
Manarola is even stunning on a cloudy day with angry seas.
I feel as if homes like this don’t even exist in real life. I had to pinch myself to accept the cute-ness of this home found a top the town of Maranola.
A perfect #PinkHour over the main street of Riomaggiore.
Just a humble view of the blue hues of the sea from a local’s garden over the city of Maranola.
A doorway to a door, overlooking the sea, adorned in vines in Maranola.
I am positive that I never climbed as many stairs in my life as I did this one particular day in Maranola.
Talk about a garden with a view in Riomaggiore!
Humble sunsets and pretty street lanterns in Riomaggiore.
I’m pretty sure that the sky went out of its way to be a perfect #PinkHour almost every night I spent in Riomaggiore.
Just the average abode in Corniglia.
After the sunset the entire city of Riomaggiore had a hint of pink.
Speaking of pink, I couldn’t get enough of the colors in Corniglia!
Pretty pops of color in ever corner in Vernazza.
The cutest gelateria that ever existed, exists in Vernazza.
Here I am, in front of Maranola, sending some of these gorgeous photos to everyone I know!
So beautiful! I just love all the colors. Looks like a great place to just wander and get lost. Seems like no matter which way you go, the views will be spectacular!
You couldn’t be any more spot on, no matter where you go there’s beautiful views!
Beautiful photos! We went to Italy last year but didn’t have time to go to Cinque Terre. 🙁 I really want to go back!
I TOTALLY SUGGEST YOU PLAN A VISIT BACK TO ITALY! (I’m extremely partial to Italy LOL)
I loved your post! I am all about photo heavy blog posts, I personally believe that photos can give you more of a sense of place than writing. This town is so colorful, it reminds me of a city here in Mexico called Guanajuato!
I’ve just recently been informed about how many cities in Mexico might look similar to Italy and now I have some serious Mexico wanderlust LOL thanks for the wonderful compliments!
Even with no editing CT photos look breathtaking! Heard that the govt will be regulating the number of tourists there soon, I so want to visit before that happens. You are lucky to have been there!
Thanks so much! I’m actually writing a piece about the REAL REASON they’re looking to regulate tourists there! I’d plan to visit before April or after October, otherwise its swarming with tourists and you won’t get a real feel for the area.
wow Italy is so beautiful! I did a road trip ones there, but I feel like Ive missed all those wonderful places! I guess I am gonna have to go back one day! your photos are beautiful !
I feel like I could explore Italy every year for the rest of my life and still discover new places! I hope you get to visit again one day!!
absolutely beautiful! I have always kind of wanted to go here but have never cared too much! Now… I want to go NOW! haha! Loved this!
Thanks Lacey!
Your photography is beautiful. The views are breath-taking. Keep it up!
Thank you!
Stunning pictures of an already stunning place. A friend of mine was asking details about Cinque Terre to be shared with her from FTB community. This will come in handy for her. Keep travelling and sharing 🙂
Oh I hope it can help her! It’s not too informational regarding how to get there or where to stay, etc but it sure will give some wanderlust LOL
I particularly like the SUNSET shots. Very much in fact. Such an iconic place to visit sometime soon I hope. BELLA Italia!
I hope you can visit soon, too! The sunsets are particularly pretty in this little slice of heaven.
Yes! You managed to do that! I miss Cinque Terre so bad! One of the best places in Italy (though I think that Italy is just gorgeous by default)!
I completely agree, Italy totally is gorgeous by default!
