What to Pack for England in Spring

Recently I was invited by the team at Visit Wales to take a press trip along the Wales Coast in the Spring. I was so excited for this trip that I even packed two weeks before I was supposed to depart! Researching what to pack while visiting England in the Spring was no easy task – it seems you can possibly experience all four seasons in one day.

In an unfortunate stroke of fate, I wasn’t able to take the trip after hurting a vertebra in my back. Being a cup half full type of person I decided to compile my list of wardrobe and accessory essentials for packing for Spring in England.

An Umbrella

As I mentioned before, Spring in England can boast all four seasons and rain will most likely be in the forecast. I suggest going with a sun and rain umbrella lightweight travel umbrella which can protect you from both too much sun and too much rain.

Yellow Raincoat (do it for the ‘gram)

I actually love a good yellow raincoat and let’s face it, you’re probably going to be taking photos to post to Instagram and what’s more Instagrammable than gloomy England skies paired with a bright yellow raincoat? If you’re not a fan of the fisherman look you can also check out this super affordable raincoat that comes in nine fun colors!

Hunter Rain-boots

You’re going to need to pack a pair of rain boots and like I said, we’re doin’ it for the ‘gram so why not opt for super trendy Hunter Rainboots?

Denim Jacket

A denim jacket is a great add-on to almost any travel wardrobe as it’s great for layering and can be dressed down or up. Pair a denim jacket with leggings, ankle boots, and a t-shirt or throw it over a long flowy dress during your trip to England!

Layering will be the name of the “dressing for England in Spring” game and there’s no better way to layer than with both long sleeve tees and short sleeve tees.

Chunky knit

A good chunky knit will not only be good to sport on the plane but cozy for travel days during your trip and especially if (and in England in Spring, inevitably when) it gets a little chilly.

GoPro Hero 6+

I love, love, love the latest edition of GoPro (the Hero 6). With heaps of options for both still photos and videos – it also no longer comes with a case around the actual camera – meaning if you stumble upon some rainy weather while exploring England – you don’t have to worry about your camera getting wet.

A Good Suitcase

If you’re traveling on any trip this is a must-have! I can’t suggest going with an American Tourister Curio large case American Tourister (Rose Gold!!) Moonlight medium case.

Long Sleeve Dresses

I love traveling with a good dress – not only does a dress make for a good photo op but they’re also suuuper comfortable to travel in. Being that it can be a bit chilly during Spring in England you may want to opt for a long sleeve dress.

Long Dresses

Long dresses are mostly here on this list because of the photo ops. They also happen to be one of my Spring Style Must Have’s for Travel. My favorite flowy dress for travel is the perfect dress for any shape! It also comes in a bunch of different colors and patterns which can be paired with the scenery nearly anywhere in England.

Henri Bendel Jetsetter Backpack

This backpack is not only a backpack but it’s also a shoulder bag and a handbag making it the perfect addition to not only your England trip wardrobe but almost any trip’s wardrobe!

Mirrored Sunnies

Mirrored sunnies are on trend this Spring and a great way to add to any travel wardrobe. You can definitely expect sun in England in the Spring so be prepared with round mirrored sunnies or oversized mirrored sunnies.

Travel Scarf

Just like a chunky knit, a travel scarf will definitely do you good on a plane (it’s actually one of my 17 Must Have’s for Travel!)  But, a travel scarf will serve as an extra backup layer if you need it during your trip to England during Spring.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are a great shoe choice when packing for England in Spring. You can walk comfortably in ankle boots, pair them with nearly any outfit and if they happen to get a little wet, it’s not the end of the world. If you’re looking for a more stylish ankle boot check out these white crackle leather boots that are perfect for spring!

Minimergency Kit

Because you just never know! This little minimergency kit is one of my favorite accessories for travel. It’s super small and can literally save you in the case of a mini-emergency.

  1. sorry you missed your trip – hopefully you will get to go soon! How do you get these press trips? Do you reach out or do they find you? I love the way you put together the picture of all the items – how do you do that?

Great packing list. Would you believe that we were in London in March without an umbrella and managed to survive an entire week without getting drenched! haha!

So sorry to hear that you couldn’t go on this trip! You really nailed the packing list though. Spring in the UK is not an easy trip to pack for!
